Fireplace Styling Tips//Hygge Hearth
Living in Virginia Beach, it is pretty rare to see any snow here during the winter months. However, when it does snow, it's always a special treat.
There is something so magical about being in a warm cozy home during the brutally cold winter season.
I see that magic come to life in my hygge style stone stacked fireplace hearth.
The fire crackling, frostbit hands thawing out, and the warm heat that hugs the soul. It's all so captivating!
It's my favorite place to hang out during a cold snowy day or any day that I'm craving some extra warmth.
Today I am sharing my mini home tour of my fireplace hearth. All the sources that I used to create this cozy snow day hearth are linked below.
But first, I'm answering most searched questions on google for fireplace decorating:
What should I hang over my fireplace mantel during the winter season?
Ivy, hanging plant

What type of seat cushion should I place on a hearth?
What are some hearth accessories I can add next to my fireplace?
To me, decorating a cozy fireplace setting is all about creating a feeling.
It's not about the number of decorations you have on your hearth, but it's about telling a story through your decor.
For example, draping a blanket over a basket is a visual reminder to touch and place the blanket on you.
Having a board game set out with game pieces in action is inviting you to sit by the fire and stay awhile.
And, burning candles or turning battery-operated ones on promotes calmness and relaxation.
These hearth decorations combined make a special homemade recipe for a comfy cozy fireplace to enjoy on those blustery snowy winter days.
